Networking event targets medical community

Members of Forsyth County?s health care community are invited to enjoy some holiday merriment this week.

The Healthcare Association of Forsyth County, a division of the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, will hold the fourth annual Mingle Jingle from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Northside Hospital-Forsyth Women?s Center Galleria.

Jason Mock, the chamber?s Small Business Services Center director, said the event is free and open to anyone affiliated with health care.

?The Healthcare Association is under the umbrella of the chamber for our medical community,? he said. ?It?s a great opportunity for our medical community to gather in a relaxed setting and talk.?

Mock noted that the event is not just for doctors and nurses. ?

?It?s more ? if you own a medical supply company or any type of business that relates to the medical field or works within the medical field in any way, we encourage you to come out and network with others,? he said.

Mock said Mingle Jingle has grown in popularity over the years.

?It started out as an event in a tent behind Northside and has moved into the Women?s Center, where it?s a little more warm and cozier than being outside in a tent,? he said, noting that attendance averages between 130 to 150 people.

?Our sponsorships have grown, our attendance has grown and it?s just become a staple event that people look forward to in December.?
